Worried about your job?

This is something I thought of writing about for a while.

With caring for my son and getting admitted in hospital several times, I often think: What could happen with regards to my job? What if I won’t be able to attend to my work regularly to support my family? What if this affect my finances? And on and on.

Then I refer to the divine lens. Who actually feeds you? Who enables you to work and provide for your family? Who is the real controller of your life circumstances?

It is a human thing to worry and get nervous. But to let that control our wellbeing and inner peace is too much to handle.

The problem is we think we control our life situations. We believe it is us who do things, go to work, earn income and provide for our families.

Such beliefs and thoughts create mental and emotional chains. They suphocate us and make us live life worried, anxious and nervous.

No wonder Allah says in the Holy Book of Quran: “… avoid much of assumptions. Indeed some assumptions are sin…” in Surat Al Hujurat, Aya 12. If you reflect and question your thoughts, you realize a lot of your thinking is unnecessarily repetitive and a waste of time and energy. It is like you telling Allah: I don’t trust your wisdom. I can’t fully rely on you and I think that I am the sole provider for my family.

Continue reflecting and processing until you arrive to the meaning and perspective that most resonate with your heart and soul.
