What are you taking for granted?

This is a question I often like asking especially when I am dwelling in tensions, stresses and worries.

For example, in my current situation with caring for my son while admitted in hospital, I worry about him, what to expect from the future, how he will recover and whether those spinal treatments could affect his body movement and wellbeing.

Then I refer to the general big perspective of the situation. Treating him at such a young age could open up doors for him to grow his internal organs fully, to encourage his other body parts to grow and to increase the capacity of his lungs breathing.

Then I remember life, living, our human existence in this earth hotel and our given privilege to live and witness all these living creatures.

I also remember this recite in the Holy Book of Quran when Allah said: “I have created you before when you had been nothing” in Surat Maryam, Aya 9.

These pointers and reminders tell me what we are taking for granted. What are you doing? Where you put your focus? Are you living life or are you living in your small, limited mind? Do you really believe that life is there to get you, or you are here to experience life with all its ups and downs?

I let you process the answer for yourself.
