Returning back to work after leave

When you were on leave whether it is a medical leave, maternity leave, sick leave or any other type of leave, returning back to work could bring up mixed emotions. This happens especially for mothers who love their families and homes.

Returning back to work requires a shift in the daily routines and creating new ones. For instance, probably during the holiday you got used to caring for your baby, managing the domestics of your home and accommodating the social activities too. But when returning back to work, you might feel a bit shaky. Things are changing again. A key question that could pop in your mind is this: How can I assure the kids and home activities continue to run smoothly with minimum effect of me being at work. That is how women’s minds work. We think of so many things at the same time.

Here are few simple actions we can take. First is identify the areas in your home and family set-up where you think will be affected by your going back to work. Second, fill those areas you found by hiring help, using your family as a support, sending your child to day care or whatever solutions you believe can support you. Third, balance your efforts between work and home. We can easily get drowned going to work by many responsibilities.

Still with the tips and reference points we keep for ourselves, its not easy to return back to work and leaving your child behind. Its a struggle. But gradually and gently things will fall into the right places.
