Reflections in Hospital

When admitted in hospital for a while, you find lots of patients admitted for different illnesses.

Some are mildly sick while others are severe and critical.

When I find those patients who are almost handicapped and their parents / caretakers continuously strive for their caring, I quietly reflect: If you think your son is terribly sick, look at others. I am not comparing diseases or people but when you witness such people and situations, you gain perspective.

We complain, judge, blame and wish situations to be different than they are. Then when you look around you and find people who are diagnosed with diseases far worse and soul crushing than yours, you realize the tremendous blessing and gifts you already have. You thank Allah for health, privileges, strength, power and recovery that you are getting daily. And you pray for all other patients to get relief, recovery and cure in their healing journey.
