Nervous to swim in deep water
At the moment , I experience fear and nervousness when the coach asks me to swim towards the deep water.
At that time I wonder: How can I go there? What if I sink? What if I panic in the middle of 3 meter depth water? What if I lose control of myself and die? And on and on.
On the other side of my mind, I long to move ahead and swim towards the deep water. I have got that curiosity and interest to witness what is beyond the shallow water. Plus I like to taste the thrill and excitement feeling of swimming in the deep water.
This is like a pull and push between your subconscious mind and your active awareness. Your subconscious mind drags you to that secured and safe place. It wants you to stay safe and away from risk and danger.
While your active awareness longs for you to move ahead, utilize your potential and tap into your inner genious. It pushes you to go beyond your limits. It challenges you to put extra effort and find your true self in the other side.
It is interesting to do this reflective process with yourself and thoughts. But what is even better is to use this information in practice for your best advantage.
