Guilty to Rest?

With the current life set-up we live now, it might be tricky to totally let go and relax when you want to take a short nap. You may think: I can’t rest. I have got a to-do-list to finish. Kids are waiting for me. I can’t wait till tomorrow. I must do them all today.

This is common in many of us. We feel guilty when resting. We experience lack and doubt whenever we want to let go and rest.

But then I like to remember our humanity. We are weak and vulnerable humans. We work and perform. But then we get tired and fatigued. We feel burned out.

When we look at our humanity from a distance, you start to be compassionate and understanding. Don’t get tricked by the cultural and societal myths of work, work and work.

Life is not just about work. It is a combination of work, rest, pleasure, contribute, connect, create and experience life to the fullest.

Whenever you feel guilty when resting or taking a short break, I want you to remember this. You are human. You have got limits in your energy and capacity. And a balanced lifestyle is key to improve your overall health and wellbeing.
