Are you a crier? Me too!

What it feels like to just cry all the time and get emotional? I think this character is for people who are extra sensitive and perceive life with more depth and intimacy.

However it gets painful and exhausting sometimes when the life just gets into you. And you have no option but cry.

Many times, people just don’t understand. You hear common comments like: Why are you crying? Be strong. So the people around you can also be strong. But wait a minute. Can’t we get strength from crying too?

I think it is a myth when people perceive crying as a weakness and something to numb and avoid. It is actually a precious human gift to express our emotions whenever you feel sad, depressed or any other strong feelings.

If you are like me, crying can happen when you watch your loved one suffering from an illness. When you watch a movie with sad emotional scenes. When you see your child getting hurt and cries. When you say goodbye to your loved one in the airport. Or even when you see your parents or grandparents wave goodbye for you not knowing if it is the last time you see them or you may see them again.

It is loving to find someone who shares similar characteristics as you. At least you get to feel less lonely and more held.

So the next time you cry, I want you to remember this. Your emotional expression is unique and valuable. With crying, although your eyes would swollen and get tired, it brings several benefits to your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whatever is inside you, it gets released through your precious tears. And the most important reminder here is to appreciate this unique character and don’t allow other people to bring you down or abnormalize you because of it.
