The Experience of Staying in Hospital
Many people look at me that surprised and shocked look when they know the time period we spend in hospital.
Yes, I don’t deny. It’s tiring and not easy. But when you look at the other half of the cup that is full instead of the empty side, we are here, getting a spinal treatment (halo pelvic distraction), receiving regular medical follow-up and supervision with regards to the pin site dressing and physiotherapy and general well-being of his condition daily.
Plus, the 3 meals we get (breakfast, lunch and dinner), snack after breakfast, snack after lunch and tea after dinner.
The recreation facilities we have got in the hospital are a restaurant, a coffee shop, two snack machine (my son’s favorite), walking path outside the hospital beside trees and bushes.
A bonus as well is the informal and social connections we get to form with nurses, cleaners and parents of our neighbor patients. And don’t forget the exciting and addictive online shopping we do using talabat or other online platforms.
At the end, it’s an experience. One of its kind. It is a journey searching, seeking and asking for health, cure, recovery and potential for future healthy living and fulfilling lifestyle.
