Rigid Mentality’s Impact on a Person’s Health and Well-being

Rigid Mentality. Holding on to a perspective for so long. Being so fixed and rigid. This kind of mentality is so common and majority of people adopt it. It makes you feel safe, comfortable and settled.

However, it's impacts on the other way round can be severely destructive. Holding on to a certain belief, to a specific perspective may not necessarily be useful in the long run.

Some events from personal experience that show you samples of rigid perspective are:

1- Thinking that my two years old son must eat at a certain time and a certain food.

2- Obeying a boss at work knowing that I could be my own boss.

3- Doing everything around the house knowing that I could delegate and let people help me.

4- Overthinking, overpreparing and overstressing about tiny details knowing that life is too short and is meant to be lived to the fullest.

5- Hiding and making myself invisible knowing that I can influence others and make a difference in the way people live their lives.

It's not easy to come out of the rigid mindset. But continuous reflection, ongoing reassess of the deep beleifs and values can help gradually release the tight knots of the rigid mentality. Daily practices like journaling, observing our thoughts from a distance, writing down our thoughts and spending private time alone are helpful tips in this self reflection process.
