How to perceive time?
Time is a precious asset we all have. How you spend it and what you decide to do with it will say a lot about your time-efficiency.
If you ask me about time, well I see it as a precious asset not to be wasted or taken for granted. Many say: Time is there. It is available. I will just take my time. There is enough time. I am not in a hurry or rush. But actually time if not looked at, organized, prioritized and blocked specifically for your needs, it will pass you like thunder and lightening.
One of the quotes I personally like is this: If today was your last day living on this earth, will you continue doing what you do today? This gives me chills. This is how you use your deathbed mentality to your advantage. If you decide to see today as if it is your last day living on this earth, what will you be doing today? What actions will you take? Which people you would spend your time with? How will you use your precious energy and efforts? Where will you put your focus on?
Also your interpretation about time could be revisited. Some believe time is not enough and we need to include as many tasks we could in the time slots throughout our days. And still with all that, we think time is not enough. But what if we flip the coin for a moment? What if time is actually enough and it is us how we divide it, block it, prioritize it and handle it? What if time is actually there for us and not against us? It is only our interpretation of it and our actions towards it.
It is interesting when you look at time differently. I get frustrated when tasks and deadlines come at the same time and you are breaking your head trying to find the available time to do them all. Then I remember the prioritizing, time-blocking, what matters now, what is urgent and what is important. This simplifies your approach towards time and makes your relationship with it friendly, simple and easy-going.
