First Time Swimming Experience

Yesterday was our 1st day to start our swimming lessons. I was scared at first and asked the coach: How deep is the water? She said: It is less than your height. I am here with you. Don’t worry.

When we were following along with the basic swimming skills like breathing out bubbles in the water and kicking the water with our legs and feet, I noticed a kind of rhythm in the water. If you resist it, it pulls you down. But if you cooperate with it, it carries you like a floaty.

I noticed the need to be relaxed and loose when you are in the water. With all the fear and nervouseness I felt, there was also this positive self-esteem, pride and happiness I felt after we finished with the swimming lesson.

It is interesting to learn something so practical and actionable. It is like you are forced to get out of your head and be in your body 90% of the time.
