Finding your footing again!

Things happen in life such as surviving an illness, recovering from a heartbreak and seeing your identity falling apart. Its not easy to witness such devastating events in a life time at the same time. Sometimes they make you feel lost, not sure of anything, not knowing what is the next step and just sinking in the depth of overwhelm.

In such scenarios, a crucial first thing to do is stepping into your presence. This is where you observe the environment around you. Where you are sitting. What are you sitting on? What do you see in front of you? Your back is leaning to what? Your feet pressing the ground.

Feel the air you are breathing enter your lungs bit by bit. Feel the air excel your lungs gently. Slow down for a moment and notice what you hold in your hands? Feel your fingers, the palm of your hands and your arms.

If you are sitting, feel your thighs and legs rest gently on wherever you are sitting. This practice brings you back to your existense. It reminds you of your aliveness and whatever you are going through now, remember you are alive, you exist and the preciousness of life is greater.

After doing this, you realize the weight we put on circumstances happen in our life is not worth it. If you feel stressed, or worried or overthinking or frustrated, it doesn’t matter because you are alive, you exist, you matter, and the life you are living is precious and not to be wasted or taken for granted.
