Either You or Them!
Many times we want to do everything. We want to satisfy our loved ones. We want to make them happy and cater to their needs. We want to be close to them and have good moments. But sometimes in life, you find stages where you need to separate yourself. Examples of those stages are: when you are stuck and don’t know what to do. When you have major important things going on in your life. When certain areas in your life just require 100% of your focus and attention.
These stages force you to focus and prioritize. Then you hear these common comments: Where have you been? You are not supposed to do this. We rarely see you. It has been months since we met you. And on and on the comments keep going.
Keep in mind, you can’t satisfy all your loved ones. There have to be a group who will be dissatisfied with you and that is ok. Many times we wish our loved ones could understand our situation. But the truth is the only person who understands your real situation is YOU and not any other human being.
So if you have goals, projects and important things going on in your life now, stop blaming yourself. Stop the guilt and shame. Stop the not enough idea. Stop being so hard on yourself. Look at your life. What is happening there? What areas that need most of your focus, attention and energy? Which area is most important and least important? Create some balance in your life and see the picture of your life gets crafted and painted colourfully and beautifully.
