Scared of being judged?

The fear of judgment and criticism is something I carry for such a long time. It starts with series of childhood incidents either from home or school.

If we are not aware enough, it continues to adulthood including career, relationship, personal development, parenting, social life and other areas.

A good mental question to ask when this fear clouds your mind is: What are you really scared of? Is it the judgment? Is it an old belief that was never revisited and questioned? Or is it a feeling you have been avoiding or suppressing?

Whatever your answer is, continue working through your answers by asking: Why. Let us say: I am scared of being judged. Why? Because I don’t want to look stupid in front of my peers. Why? Because how I look in front of my colleagues matters to me. Why? Because if I don’t matter to others, I would be invaluable and insignificant.

While you do this process and find out the root cause of your fear, you get to understand your belief system more objectively. You get to notice what makes sense and what doesn’t. And eventually you decide what matters to you and what doesn’t.
