Reorganizing Your Roles

Maybe you think you already know your roles. You know what you are supposed to do. You think you have figured it out.

Then with experience you realize you have been naïve. You have been blind to the truth. You forgot your true self. Then you question yourself: What is important and what isn’t? What matters to you and what doesn’t? Are you ok with what is going on in your life or there is a mental and emotional shift you need to make?

When I am in this stage, I like to see myself as a guest observing the incidents happening from a distance objectively. Are you really supposed to do everything? Are you really responsible for everyone in your circle? Can you really make things perfectly meet your specific expectations?

Go back again and again. Maybe now you think you know. But actually you don’t. Use your beginner’s mindset. Look at areas in your life with fresh eyes.

You could be surprised by the availability of time you actually have. You may be amazed by the kind of opportunities you are missing.

At the end, there is a lot of personal ego that you will need to keep aside when doing this reflective process. It is not easy to let go of your ego especially if you have been doing it for long time. But keep going. Keep moving and holding on. When you reach the other side, you would realize the value and worthiness of doing this process.
