How to complete reading Quran in Ramadhan?
Reading the Holy Book of Quran is an act of mind, heart and soul nourishing. It is like having a conversation with Allah about life, living, what matters and what doesn’t and the truth behind our existence in this earth school.
Each time you read Quran, a new reflection and piece of information wakes you up from your sleep. It soothes you when you are in pain. It accompanies you when you feel lonely. It gives you hope when you are depressed. And it strengthens your faith and belief.
A question that may pop in your mind during this special time of the year is: How can I complete reading Quran in Ramadhan? Each one of us do it differently according to your space, energy and available time.
For me personally, I like to divide this task into tiny small baby steps. Because I am a working parent and I juggle between different tasks at the same time, I block specific short slots of time daily to read few pages of Quran. For example the daily target is to complete reading a whole Juzu. The task can be divided by reading few pages before or after the suhoor meal, or after each prayer or during the time slot you know you would be a bit free and relaxed.
If you are very busy with work and other family responsibilities, a tip is listen to the Quran being read by someone through YouTube or other online apps. It can be you are driving and listening to Quran being read in your car. It can be while you are busy doing your tasks, you are wearing your ear buds and listening to Quran. You may do this Juzu by Juzu until you complete listening to the whole book of Quran.
At the end, the ability to read Quran is a precious gift we are being given. It lifts you up when you are lost. It comforts you when you are sad. It grounds you when you are nervous and worried. And one of the best thing any parent could do for their kids is teach and train them to read Quran regularly with reflection, story telling and meaning discussions.
